Pilgrimages 2010
Pilgrimages for Grandparents 2010
The Grandparents Pilgrimage was inspired by an idea to honour and thank St
Joachim and St Anne, parents of Mary, Grandparents of Jesus and all
Grandparents alive and dead, for all they have done for us down through the
ages, particularly in the transmission of the Faith.

Grandparents vital contribution was never as important as it is now in these
challenging times to our families, our Church and all of society. Grandparents
have no agenda, they simply want the best for their grandchildren. The vocation
of Grandparents is rooted in love.

We encourage Grandparents and Catholic Shrines everywhere to organise
Pilgrimages for Grandparents. Pope John Paul II said “Shrines of Our Lady are the natural place for families to go on Pilgrimage to
pray and to give thanks.”
